Northern Colorado Rocketry GPS ID Tracking Number Request Site
If you do not use a Garmin Astro 220 Dog Tracking System or an on-board DC20 then you probably don't care about this.
Northern Colorado Rocketry Association allows members and participators at its events to request a reserved DC20 ID number to insure that rockets are properly identified and do not use duplicate ID numbers. This is especially important when there are a large number of rockets being flown on the same weekend that will need to be tracked and located, such as Mile High Mayhem and Octoberfest.
If an ID number is available - it will be assigned to you for the entire year. These numbers will only be recognized at NCR or Tripoli-Colorado high powered launches. If you attend an out-of-region launch, this number will not apply at that venue, so it is your responsibility to coordinate with members of the other clubs.
The DC20 'identified' and programmed by the Astro 220 handheld which allows up to 50 ID's 0-49 (0-5 is reserved). If you have more than one DC20 in multiple rockets that will be tracked using a single handheld, it is advised that you choose non-consecutive ID numbers to minimize frequency overlap on your unit.If you do not have a permanent ID number, when you show up at an event, the event organizer will assign you an reserve number 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 for that particular event.
Numbers 6-49 are available on a first come first served basis to anyone who wants a permanent ID number for 2008, but you must have one or more DC20's in order to register.
This website will start taking requests at 12:01 AM on TBD.
Once you have requested and received an ID number you will not be able to change it, so make sure it is the number you want.
